Lake Time Oreo Speedwagon

This 5.6% ABV chocolate vanilla milk stout is from the Lake Time Brewery of Clear Lake, Iowa.

The beer pours black in color. There is a short head of tan foam. The aroma is dark roasted malt, chocolate, definitely has a note like the dark Oreo cookie, sweetness, vanilla. The taste follows the aromas, it is definitely a stout that tastes like Oreo cookies, but there is a bitter note on the end that tastes like artificial sweetener bitterness and not true-to-style stout bitterness. That is the one off note here. The beer drinks smooth, easy, with light carbonation. It could actually use a little more body to hold up all the flavors.
