Modelo Chelada Limon y Sal

Modelo Especial has been brewed since 1925 by the Cerveceria Modelo in Mexico City, Mexico. This is a variation on their canned cheladas, this one just having lime and salt with the beer.

The beer pours a lightly hazed dingy dark golden. There is nearly an inch of white foam head that fizzes rapidly away. The aroma is tart lime over light lager beer. The taste is its description, salt is evident, lime is powerful, each taking over the light lager taste of the beer. It is surprisingly salty. The beer drinks easy. While well carbonated, it has a bit of a flat feel, perhaps because of the salt?
