Dogfish Head Wood-Aged Bitches Brew

The Dogfish Head Brewery is in Milton, Delaware. This is a 9.0% ABV stout brewed with honey that is aged in wood barrels. 

The beer pours black. There is a short head of brown foam. The aroma is sweet, honey, with a tang as the sweetness hits the dark roast malt notes and char. The taste is a nicely balanced blend of sweet, flavorful honey and dark roasted malt. There is char and some dark chocolate. The finish is semi-dry, with a moderate bitterness and woody astringency. The beer drinks with a rich, but not heavy body, with tingling carbonation.
