Ballast Point Victory at Sea

This 10.0% ABV imperial porter with coffee and vanilla is from the Ballast Point Brewing Company of San Diego, California.

The beer pours very dark brown to black in color. There is nearly an inch of dark tan foam. The aroma is coffee, vanilla, dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, and mocha. The taste hits the same notes as the aromas, sweetness, then dark roasted char, finishing mostly dry and fairly bitter. The beer drinks very smooth, rich, and creamy.
