The beer pours deep black, with a tall,
foaming head of light brown. The aroma is dark roasted malt, char,
dark fruit, light coffee, with some dark chocolate. The taste follows
the aromas, hitting the same notes. The raisins are present, but not obtrusive, blending well with the dark roasted malt notes. There is some sweetness, but the
finish is fairly dry and quite bitter. The beer drinks smooth, with a
nice full body, along with some intensely tingling carbonation.
