Lagunitas Citrusinensis Pale Ale

This 7.5% ABV pale ale is from the Lagunitas Brewing Company of Petaluma, California (and now with a brewery in Chicago, Illinois).

The beer pours a lightly hazy golden orange. There is a tall, thick, foaming head of white to off-white. The aroma is bright, citrus, lemon and orange, with some dankness, over toasted malt. The taste follows the aromas, heavy citrus, especially the lemon and orange, light dank and pine, with a fairly bitter finish. The beer drinks soft, with a moderate carbonation. Nice overall, but the citrus oil note on the aftertaste is strong enough to be almost off-putting.
