Surly Heat Slayer

This 5.0% ABV kolsch-style ale is from the Surly Brewing Company of Brooklyn Center (and now Minneapolis), Minnesota.

The beer pours golden in color with just a touch of haze. There is an inch of thick, foamy, white head. The aroma is fruity, pears and citrus, over bread dough. The taste follows the aromas, dough, fruit, a touch of floral, with a fairly bitter, grassy finish. The beer drinks with a crisp carbonation, but also smooth.
