Bent River QC Haze IPA

This is a 7.1% ABV and 70 IBU hazy India Pale Ale. It uses Citra, Simcoe, and Amarillo hops. It is from the Bent River Brewing Company of Rock Island, Illinois (original brewpub in Moline, Illinois). Their motto: Get Bent!  The pictures are not out of focus, the bottle art is intentionally "hazed."

The beer pours a dark orange and apricot, nearing amber, with a light haze. There is much uprushing carbonation. There is a tall, thick, foaming head of white to off-white. The aroma is full of orange, some sweetness, like candied oranges, but with citrus and peel added in, along with caramel malt. The taste follows the aromas, a sweet, tangy, citrusy, orange and caramel rush of flavor. It is sweet, but the finish is semi-dry, with a light to moderate bitterness. The beer drinks soft and smooth, with a light and tingling carbonation.
