Keg Creek No Paddle IPA

This 6.4% ABV India Pale Ale is from the Keg Creek Brewing Company in Glenwood, Iowa. The brewery is named after a nearby creek which was originally named Five Barrel Creek for the illicit whiskey found there in the mid-1800's.

The beer pours a very dark amber and copper. There is an inch of very light tan head. The aroma is a blast of resiny pine, orange peel, tangerine, and candied orange, along with rich, caramel maltiness. The taste follows the aromas, hitting the same notes. This is a deep, rich, malty, pine and orange IPA. The finish is dry and moderately bitter. The beer drinks smooth and soft.
