Boulevard Collaboration No. 7 Oak-Aged Lager

This 6.0% ABV oak-aged lager made with peach, lemon zest, and Riesling grape juice is part of the Collaboration portion of the Smokestack series of limited releases from the Boulevard Brewing Company of Kansas City, Missouri. Number seven of the Collaborations is done with Creature Comforts Brewing Company and Arizona Wilderness Brewing Company.

The beer pours a hazy golden, dark straw yellow. There is nearly an inch of white head, not long lasting. The aroma is a good mix of the ingredient list, with peach, lemon zest and riesling all present, very light oak, with a bit of crackery lager in the background. All of the aromas blend together in the taste, the mix gives a floral note, and the oak is stronger, and very astringent in the finish. There is a moderate, oaky, bitterness. The beer drinks with a good body, but also crisply and refreshingly carbonated.
