Great Divide Claymore

This 7.7% ABV Scotch Ale is from the Great Divide Brewing Company in Denver, Colorado.

The beer pours a very dark brown, nearing black. There is almost no head, just a ring of tan. The aroma is roasted, peaty, with some dark fruits and caramel in the back. The taste follows the aromas, roasted, peaty, cherry, plum, caramel. The taste is rich. There is sweetness, but the finish is dry. The beer drinks smooth with a tingling of carbonation. This is enjoyable.
