Lazy Magnolia Timber Beast Imperial Rye Pale Ale

This is a 9.0 ABV imperial rye pale ale from the Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company of Kiln, Mississippi. It is part of their Back Porch series, and features Zythos hops, along with Nugget, Cascade and Centennial.

The beer pours a shining copper in color with an inch of very light tan foamy head. The aroma is tangy hops, citrus and passion fruit, with a light, earthy, pine note. The taste follows the aromas quite directly. The finish is dry and fairly bitter. It is finely, but intensely, carbonated. Good, but not spectacular.
