This is an 8.0% ABV strong ale from the Middle Ages Brewing Company of Syracuse, New York. They produce British inspired ales. Well, the label on the bottle is, um, well, you know, ahem,
uh, interesting to say the least.
The beer pours a dark brown with ruby tints.
There is about an inch of very light tan foamy head. The aroma is malty,
caramel, plums, cherry and light strawberry. The taste follows the aromas, as
fruity as it is malty, but with a slightly off sour note on the end, very light.
It is medium bodied and moderately carbonated. This is oh so close to being
really good, they just need to clean up that incongruous tart note on the end.
This should be malty, fruity and clean, the tart note doesn’t work for this
one.
