This is a 6.9% ABV India Pale Ale brewed with rye from the Harpoon Brewery of Boston, Massachusetts. They have been brewing since 1986.
The beer pours
copper colored. There is a lot of fine carbonation, and a short, thin head of
off-white foam. The aroma is spicy, with herbal and funky hops, over caramel
malt. The taste is orange fruit, spicy and funky, over caramel malt. The finish
has growing bitterness. It has full flavor, but drinks relatively light, and
refreshing. With each sip the fruit builds as the palate adjusts to the rye spice and the funky notes. Very nice overall, worth trying and repeating.
