Tommyknocker Small Patch Pumpkin Harvest Ale

The Tommyknocker Brewery has been brewing in Idaho Springs, Colorado since 1994. Tommyknockers are legendary elves who lived in the cracks and crevices of the area's gold mines in the 1800's.  They could be heard singing and working, but were rarely seen. They were known to steer miners out of harm's way and to finds of gold.

This 5.0% ABV beer is brewed with pumpkin, molasses and spices. The beer pours very dark brown and ruby, one could say the color of molasses. There is essentially no head. The aroma is spices, a lot of clove, some molasses, light pumpkin, and a bit of dark roasted malt. The taste is very watery and light compared to the aroma, a background of dark roasted malt and cloves with nutmeg. This is the worst pumpkin beer I have tried this season.
