Empyrean Fallen Angel Sweet Stout

The Empyrean Brewing Company is in Lincoln, Nebraska. This is their 5.6% ABV sweet stout.

The beer pours black with dark ruby on the edges. There is a half-inch of very light tan head. The aroma is dark roasted malts, char, tangy with dark and dried fruits. The taste follows the aromas, the dark roast has chocolate and char, with dark fruit notes, sweetness, but with a mostly dry and moderately bitter finish. The beer drinks smooth, with a relatively light body.
