Firetrucker Ladder Cream Ale

This 6.5% ABV cream ale is from the Firetrucker Brewery of Ankeny, Iowa. They are located in a former fire station, and thus the theme of their brewery.

The beer pours a dark golden to light amber in color. There is a half-inch head of white to off-white foam. The aroma is grassy, lightly malty, touch of caramel and nut. The taste follows the aromas, but kicks the maltiness up a notch, adds some light plum and berry, finishes with a moderately bitter grassiness. The beer drinks easy, smooth, round, but with noticeable carbonation. This is a really nice cream ale.
