This is a German-inspired American IPA. It is from Bell's Brewery in Comstock, Michigan. It is 6.5% ABV, and is first in a series honoring Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman. It uses German malt and hops to make an American style IPA.
The beer pours a lightly hazy yellow
golden. There is a tall, thick, long-lasting head of white foam. The
aroma is fruity, peaches, tropical, with some light dankness. The
taste follows the aromas, peaches, mangoes, light and fruity, with a
touch of earthiness, next to a fairly bitter and dry finish. The beer
has a medium body, drinks soft, yet has tingling carbonation. This
tastes good and drinks refreshing.
