Mankato Brewery Mr. Stout

The Mankato Brewery is in North Mankato, Minnesota. It is the first production brewery in that city since 1967. This is their 11% ABV imperial stout.

The beer pours deep black with a relatively short head of brown foam. The aroma is dark roasted, dark fruits, dark chocolate cocoa. The taste follows the aromas, dark, rich, creamy. The finish is semi-sweet, with a fairly intense bitterness that is appropriate to the flavors and style. The beer drinks smooth and soft, its body is amply full to hold up all the flavors, yet it drinks with smooth elegance. This is a very enjoyable stout.
