Keg Creek Citrifiable Pale Ale

The Keg Creek Brewing Company is in Glenwood, Iowa. The brewery is named after a nearby creek which was originally named Five Barrel Creek for the illicit whiskey found there in the mid-1800's. This is their 6.2% ABV pale ale made with Citra hops.

The beer pours a deep amber in color, with burnt orange tints. There are protein floaties in the beer. The bottled date is smudged off so not sure if age is playing a role. There is a tall, thick, foamy head of off-white. The aroma is citrus, orange, and ample caramel malt. The taste follows the aromas, and the beer drinks quite dry, with a bitter, quinine-like finish. The beer drinks both smooth, but with enough carbonation to be refreshing.

Not long after this bottle I had this beer on tap. There was something wrong with my bottle for sure, because on tap this was so, so good, tons of citrus and dank, in a quaffable refresher.
