Shiner Candied Pecan Porter

Shiner beers come from the Spoetzel Brewery in Shiner, Texas (pop. 2,070). This is a candied pecan porter.  This 6.0% ABV beer is part of their winter seasonal mixed Texas Cold Front six pack.

The beer pours black, with a short head of dark tan head. The aroma is roasted pecans, darkened sugar, vanilla, with some mocha, and dark roast. The taste matches the notes of the aromas. It is sweet, but not overdone. The beer drinks with a medium body, just right for all the flavors. There is a moderate bitterness on the end.
