Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout 2018

This is the 2018 vintage of Goose Island's Bourbon County Brand Stout. It is a 14.7% ABV stout aged in bourbon barrels. 

The beer pours a deep, dark black. There is a half-inch of dark brown head, not long lasting. You can smell the bourbon while pouring. The aroma is sweet, caramel, darkened melting sugar, molasses, bourbon, vanilla, raisins, oak, and dark roast notes. The taste is dark roasted, sweet, caramel, molasses, burnt sugar, and raisins. There is less bourbon in the taste than in the aroma. It is sweet, tangy, and dark roasted. The beer drinks smooth, thick, full-bodied, sweet, but still with a bitter finish. The carbonation is mild.
