Iowa Brewing Cherry Diddily

This 4.9% ABV beer is from the Iowa Brewing Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It is a Flanders red sour ale. Take the name of the beer, think Ned Flanders of the Simpsons, and now you can get the name (and look at the mustache on that cherry).

The beer pours a dark reddish-brown. There is half an inch of light tan head. The head fizzles down relatively quickly. The aroma is tart, sour, woody, with cherry and a bit of subdued caramel. The taste follows the aromas, lots of tart, cherry, wood, and caramel, all blended and well-balanced, with the sour not out of control. The beer drinks soft, with lingering tartness.
