Alaskan Smash Galaxy Double IPA

This 8.5% ABV double India Pale Ale is from the Alaskan Brewing Company of Juneau, Alaska. It is made with a single malt and a single hop, in this case Northwest Pilsner Malt and Galaxy hops.

The beer pours a deep golden in color. There is over an inch of thick, foaming, white head. The aroma is a bit musky, with lots of earthy, tropical fruit, mango skin, guava, and passion fruit. The taste follows the aromas directly, with a dry, and quite bitter finish. The beer drinks soft, full-bodied, with a smooth carbonation. This is very enjoyable.
