The beer pours very dark brown, nearing
black, with an inch of tan head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, a
bit of char and dark fruit. The taste follows the aromas, adding in a
blast of bitter hops at the finish, with a quinine or grapefruit
quality to them. The beer drinks soft and easy, with a blast of fine
carbonation at the end. This is an interesting revival of a very old
style.
