Church Street Heavenly Helles

Church Street Brewing is from Itasca, Illinois. This is their 5.4% ABV helles style beer.

The beer pours a deep golden in color. There is not quite an inch of white foam head, not long lasting. The aroma is malty, dark bread, a touch of nuttiness. The taste follows the aromas, malty, a touch of sweet clover honey, rich dark bread, light straw. There is a light to moderate bitterness on the finish. The beer has a nice body of medium heft, with matching moderate carbonation. This is a nice malty forward take on the helles style.
