Founders Solid Gold Premium Lager

This 4.4% ABV lager is from Founders Brewing of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The can reminds me a bit of Olympia for some reason.

The beer pours a very lightly hazed deep golden. There is nearly an inch of white foam head. The aroma is bright, bread dough, citrus, light floral, with just a hint of lager funk. The taste follows the aromas, but emphasizes the bright without much malt base, ending with a tang that has nothing to play off. There is more malt in the aftertaste, and a moderate bitterness lingers after the finish. The beer drinks easy and crisp. Nice aroma, nice finish, but it rings a bit hollow in the middle.
