Samuel Adams Coffee Black Lager

The Samuel Adams line of beers are from the Boston Brewing Company of Boston, Massachusetts. This 5.0% ABV German-style kellerbier is part of their new all lager mixed 12 pack.

The beer pours very dark brown and dark ruby, to black, in appearance. There is an inch of tan head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, coffee, mocha, char. The taste follows the aromas directly, lots of coffee and dark roast, more like a porter. The bitterness is light except for a mild coffee bitterness. The beer drinks easy, medium-bodied and moderately carbonated.
