Kona Hanalei Island IPA

This 4.5% ABV India Pale Ale is from the Kona Brewing Company of Kona, Hawaii (although now brewed on the mainland as they are part of the Craft Brew Alliance). It is brewed passionfruit, guava, and orange.

The beer pours a very clear dark golden in color. There is an inch of white, foamy head. The aroma is a blast of fruit, lots of peach, along with a dank, big, German lager funk note. The taste follows the aromas, finishing dry, with moderate bitterness. The bottle says passionfruit, orange, and guava notes, which I can see after tasting. They meld together and come out as peach in the aromas. The beer drinks with a crisp carbonation.
