Sierra Nevada Pronto IPA (brewed for Trader Joe's)

This 6.7% ABV India Pale ale brewed with mango and hibiscus flower is from Sierra Nevada Brewing of Chico, California. It is exclusive to Trader Joe's, having been brewed for their 50th anniversary.

The beer pours a gleaming amber and copper in color. There is over an inch of thick, foamy off-white head. The aroma is dank, mango skin, floral. The taste follows the aromas, dank and floral, with some mango skin. There is surprisingly little mango flavor in this. The finish is dry and fairly bitter. The beer drinks smooth and easy, with light carbonation. This one sounded exciting, but did not turn out that way.
