The beer pours a very deep and dark amber, copper, and dark red. There is nearly an inch of off-white to light tan head. The aroma is malty, toasted caramel, with dark fruit. The taste follows the aromas, fruity, malty, caramel, toasted, sweetness from rich honey. The finish is semi-sweet, semi-dry, moderately bitter. The beer drinks smooth, round, with a soft tingling of carbonation. The honey and malt in this are nice, but where is the hoppy end the can describes? This was canned on August 31, 2016, and I only got it a few weeks ago; perhaps it was better fresher? As I finish this beer, I have to say, as a malty, honeyed sweet beer, it is great, I was just surprised from its description that there was not also a hoppy edge (the website indicates drinking fresher is better on this).
