Free State Octoberfest

Tis the season, for Oktoberfest beers, and I have been trying a number of them. This one is from the Free State Brewing Company of Lawrence, Kansas, brewing since 1989. 

The beer pours a dark amber and orange-brown. There is a short head of off-white foam. The aroma is malty, caramel, nutty, with light, tangy fruit. The taste follows the aromas, nice roasted and toasted maltiness. There is a good nuttiness to it. The beer drinks easy, with a crisply refreshing carbonation. This is a good, solid, Oktoberfest beer.
