The beer pours a hazy amber and orange in color. There is a
tall, thick head of off-white foam. The aroma is fruity, lots of fresh squeezed
orange juice, a bit of sweet, a bit tangy, and a hint of musk. The taste
follows the aromas, lots of orange juice, a bit of musk, a hint of pine, over
caramel malt, with a fairly intense bitterness on the finish, adding in quinine
and grapefruit rind. The beer drinks with a tingling carbonation. There is nothing wrong with this IPA, but I am finding that in this era of so many quality IPA's, it takes a really delicious brew to stand out from the crowd. (Raygun wins this t-shirt inspired IPA battle hands down. No, there wasn't really a battle, but I made one anyway.)
