The beer pours orange amber in color. There is a short head
of off-white foam, not long lasting. The aroma is deep grain and citrus, orange
and light lemon. The taste follows the aromas directly, deep grain, very malty,
like the sweet potato smell of the breweries when the wind is right in
Edinburgh, with fruity and citrus tones over it. The finish is dry and
moderately bitter, along with a citrus, nearly metallic, (but not unpleasant or
incongruous) tang. It has a subtle tingling carbonation and a mellow warming
effect. This doesn’t hit you over the head in any way, subtle, but damn, damn,
good.
