This is an 8.0% ABV Double IPA from Begyle Brewing of Chicago, Illinois. This is batch #66 from this Community Supported Brewery. If you live in the area, you can get an annual subscription and you get a certain number of growlers each month, like community supported agriculture, or CSA's, for farms.
The beer pours a dark honey golden and light
copper. There is a relatively short head, of somewhat fizzy white to off-white
foam. The aroma is tropical fruit, mango and passion fruit over caramel malt.
The taste follows the aromas with a real zest and zing to the tropical fruit,
adding citrus. The malt is ample, but unobtrusive. The bitterness is moderate,
present, but cut deeply by the sweetness of the malts. The beer drinks full and
round, with a subtly stinging carbonation. An overall solid DIPA with a very interesting name.
