Like its name, the beer pours black in color, dark mahogany
and ruby when held to the light. There is an inch of smooth and creamy head,
off-white to very light tan, like fresh, stretched animal skin. The aroma is
dark roasted malt, peat, smokey, briney, with a mineral tang. The taste is
first a blast of the aromas, lots of peat and peat smoke, like the malting
house in a Scotch distillery, and then there is a wave of dark roasted malt
flavors, coffee, dark chocolate. There is a bit of mineral tang on the finish.
The mouthfeel is very creamy. This is well worth a try.
