Redhook Wise Cracker Wit

This 5.3% ABV summer seasonal wheat beer is from the Redhook Brewery from Portland, Oregon and also brewing in Woodinville, Washington and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. According to the bottle it is "wheat beer brewed with Ginger, but still digs Mary Ann." If you don't get that Gilligan's Island joke, you are culturally incompetent (that's culture with a very small "c").

The beer pours a hazy honey golden in color. There is a short, fizzy head of white foam that quickly bubbles away. The aroma is lemony predominantly, over light toasted wheat and a very light, tangy yeastiness. The taste is citrus, more orange than lemon in the taste, again over the light toasted wheat. There is a very light presence of ginger, and there is some ginger heat in the finish. It is well carbonated with a fine, fizzy carbonation. Behind the carbonation is a light creaminess. Grab this one on a hot day.
