Salva Vida

Salva Vida is Spanish for lifesaver and has an image of the same on the bottle. It has been brewed in Honduras since 1916 by the Cerveceria Hondurena in San Pedro Sula. The beer pours a light golden yellow in color. There is a very tall fizzing head of white foam. The aroma is cracked dry corn and light straw, somewhat sweet, somewhat musty. The taste follows the aromas directly, with a pretty strong cracked corn and straw flavor, malty for the style. It wants to head to sweet, but there are enough hops to halt the sweetness and end dry overall. It has a "just right" lightly stinging carbonation. Sound, but not thrilling.
