Evil Genius Good 'n Evil

This 4.5% ABV golden ale is done in the German kolsch-style. The Evil Genius Beer Company had this one brewed and bottled for them by the Four Horsemen Brewing Company of South Bend, Indiana. I picked this up in South Bend at City Wide Liquors downtown. They have an excellent selection.

The beer pours a pale golden yellow, like sun-bleached straw. There is a tall head of pure white foam. It is very well carbonated. The aroma is grain, straw, grass, very light on the fruit. The taste follows the aromas directly with a grassy and moderately bitter finish. The mouthfeel is light, being just a tad watery in the mouth (although not watery in flavor) is the only weakness to this beer). Now, I would not say it is a great kolsch, but it makes a very nice pilsnery golden ale.
