Mikkeller Double Eye PA

Mikkeller is a brewery based in Denmark. It beers its brews in breweries all over the world. This beer was brewed at Lervig Aktiebryggeri in Norway. It is a whopping 14.0% ABV!

The beer pours a bright and mostly clear light copper and orange in color. There is just the lightest touch of haze. There is a short and thin head of white foam. The aroma is boozy, vinous, citrus (orange, lemon, lime, tangerine and very light grapefruit) in a white wine type of way, on top of thick, sweet malt. The taste follows the aromas, and adds in strong sun tea with lemon and some tobacco notes. The mouth is hot, boozy, syrupy. The carbonation is slight, but enough, that when added to the booze it stings the mouth. The aftertaste is moderately bitter along with a white wine vinous quality. This is a beer built like a brick shithouse (that is a compliment in case you didn't know it).
