Moa Noir

This 5.5% ABV beer calls itself the premium dark lager of New Zealand. The Moa Brewing Company started in 2003 and is in Blenheim, Marlborough, New Zealand. The beer pours a very dark brown, essentially black, in color. There is a large foamy head that is light brown in color. The aroma is dark roasted malt, light char, tangy. The taste follows the aroma directly. It is well-carbonated, refreshing, and flavorful. The aftertaste is pleasant and lingering, reflecting, and even magnifying, the original flavors.  This is a very nice black lager.
