AleSmith IPA

This 7.25% ABV India Pale Ale is from the AleSmith Brewing Company of San Diego, California. The beer pours a crystal clear orange amber and copper in color. There is an inch of thick, somewhat creamy off-white head. The aroma is hoppy, with orange, citrus and pine, and a touch of tropical fruit. The taste follows the hoppy aromas, sits on a solid bed of malt, with some caramel, and then finishes with an astringent grapefruit rind bitterness. It drinks with a light mouthfeel despite its large flavor. This is a well-constructed IPA.
