Henry Weinhard's opened in Oregon in the 1860's. It was a regional powerhouse for over a hundred years; in more recent years being acquired by Miller. The beer pours dark copper and amber in color. There is a half-inch of slightly creamy, off-white head. The aroma is tangy, grassy, and floral with some caramel malt. The taste follows the aromas directly. The finish is bitter and crisp. This drinks refreshing. This beer makes an excellent hoppy amber lager, but if you are looking for a real hop bomb IPA, this is not it. So, good drinking beer, but not really a good IPA.
