Hinterland beers are by the Green Bay Brewing Company of Green Bay, Wisconsin. This 6.3% ABV beer is a saison, or Franco-Belgian farmhouse style ale.
The beer pours a hazy, yet glowing, honey golden in color, with a hint of orange. There is tiny sediment particles in the beer. There is an inch of pure white foam. The aroma is yeasty, very floral, citrus, on a pillowy soft bed of toasted malt. The taste follows the aromas, the most floral beer I have ever had, it is like drinking a marigold. This beer is very flavorful. The finish is moderately bitter and quite dry. The floral is so strong and spicy that the aftertaste gets a note of incense. I appreciate that this is yeasty without being full of banana (not my favorite yeast note).
