Flat Earth Mummy Train

This 5.2% ABV pumpkin ale is from the Flat Earth Brewing Company in St. Paul, Minnesota. It is brewed with pumpkin, cloves, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, cinnamon and mace. It takes its name from the story that when they built the first railroad in Egypt, they unearthed so many mummies that they used them for fuel.

The beer pours dark amber and orange in color. There is a relatively short head of off-white to light tan foam, bubbly. The aroma is loads of spices, pumpkin, toasted, semi-sweet, like a rich pumpkin bread or pumpkin pie. The taste follows the aromas, a pleasant punch of pumpkin pie spices to the kisser, toasted, with a moderately bitter and quite dry finish. The taste is like liquid holiday pumpkin dessert. The mouthfeel is crisply carbonated, drinks like a lager, which is a bit incongruous with its taste. Very nice flavor, but I would like a creamier mouthfeel.
