Revolution Brewing Double Fist

This is an 8.0% ABV Double Pale Ale. It is from Revolution Brewing, which is located in Logan Square in Chicago, Illinois. They have a brew pub with good food and beer. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in Chicago.

The beer pours a deep copper and amber in color. There is not quite an inch of off-white to very light tan foam. The aroma is citrus and dank, with tropical fruit, especially mango. The taste follows the aromas adding in a very strong base of dark caramel malt. The finish is moderately bitter, cut by the sweetness of the malt. It drinks full and smooth, subtly carbonated. It has a very pleasant aftertaste, redolent of the original flavors. This is one big and bold flavored brew, it’ll punch you like a double fist of tasty beer.
