Redd's Apple Ale

Redd's Apple Ale is a 5.0% ABV golden ale (supposedly) with apple flavors and caramel color added (the website is one of those "here's a website just to have a website, but we won't actually put up any information whatsoever, type websites"). The bottle says it is from Albany, Georgia, home to a MillerCoors brewing plant, and this is their company's product. I usually don't veer into the cider type territory, but I felt compelled to give this "thing" a try.

The "product", er, "cider", er "wine cooler", er "ale" pours a golden and browned apple in color (thank you caramel coloring). It is absolutely as fizzy as club soda and has no head. If you nose it for aroma, bubbles are spitting out and hitting your nose. It smells like the best approximation of "apple" flavor you will ever run into. The taste is real non-alcoholic apple cider in club soda. That is its full story. Flavor-wise, it is non-offensive, in fact, if you like real apple cider, it actually tastes good. What is offensive is that they put the word "ale" anywhere near this. This will be a big hit with the underage drinking crowd.
