The beer pours a deep black. There is a
short head of dark brown head. The aroma is very darkly roasted,
deep, molasses, coffee, wood, chili peppers, juicy raisins, and a bit
of bourbon. The taste follows the aromas, but is smoother, nicely
blending the dark roast notes, the sweetness, the bitterness, with
both the flavor and heat of the chili peppers coming through. The
finish is semi-sweet and moderately bitter. The beer drinks smooth,
round, full, but not heavy. This is well done, and I really like the
addition of the chili peppers.
