The beer pours densely black. There is
a half inch of brown foam. The aroma is sweet and roasty; dark
chocolate, light char, mocha, molasses, dark fruit, light bourbon.
This doesn't use maple syrup, but still gives off a maple syrup
note. The taste follows the aromas, rich, alternating sweet and dark
roasted notes. The beer drinks sweet, but with enough dark roast and
wood to avoid being too sweet and come to a semi-bitter finish. The
sweet and dark notes are very well balanced this year. The beer
drinks very smooth and soft, with soft carbonation. This is very good
this year.
