Evil Twin Brewing Grand Cru

Evil Twin Brewing has its origins in Denmark, but its beers are actually brewed at ten different breweries around the world. This 12.5% ABV maple bourbon barrel aged stout and barleywine style ale blend was produced and canned at Dorchester Brewing in Boston, Massachusetts.

The beer pours a deep black in color. There is a short head of tan foam. The aroma is sweet, molasses, light maple, light anise, light char, some dark cherry, brown sugar, vanilla. The taste follows the aromas, balancing the sweetness of dark sugar and molasses, with dark roasted notes, char and dark chocolate. The maple and bourbon are subtle, influencing the flavors, but not talking the forefront. The finish is semi-sweet, with some oaky and smokey dryness, and moderately bitter. The beer is very smooth, full-bodied.
