The beer pours a deep black in color.
There is a short head of tan foam. The aroma is sweet, molasses,
light maple, light anise, light char, some dark cherry, brown sugar,
vanilla. The taste follows the aromas, balancing the sweetness of
dark sugar and molasses, with dark roasted notes, char and dark
chocolate. The maple and bourbon are subtle, influencing the flavors,
but not talking the forefront. The finish is semi-sweet, with some
oaky and smokey dryness, and moderately bitter. The beer is very
smooth, full-bodied.
